How Our Unique Outlook On Revisions Makes You A Member Of Team NUBI !

We work in a very competitive industry and our unique policy on revisions is something we are very proud of and what has separated us from the rest. There are a lot of companies that use their revision policy as a way to add hidden costs into the small print. We want happy customers that pay only that advertised price! We strive to be as flexible as possible during the creation process, offering free small revisions as we work through, keeping our customers updated every step of the way. Charges for revisions are very rare at around 1 in every 100 projects we work on, a statistic we improve on each and every month, and are there just to cover the time cost of our team. With revisions that we have to charge for being at only break even, they are something we would rather avoid! For this reason we have created a list with a few tips to ensure you avoid any extra costs along the way:

Throw that info at us!

Before we made it into the habitable zone of the Google search rankings, we survived solely on customers recommendations. We did this by sticking strictly to an important philosophy - The single most important thing we can do is to bring our customers ideas to life. This philosophy has stayed with us and over the time we have been in business we have refined this by collecting as much information as possible from our customers before we start. When you are assigned one of our team to go through the project details it is their job to get as much info as possible but also for you to make your vision as clear as possible.  Never feel as though you are asking too many questions or providing too much information. By gathering all the information before we make a start, we can be sure we get close enough to your vision without the need for majority re works. Provide as much information as possible upfront. We are here to answer you questions in our live chat feature, On social media direct messages and on any of the submission forms on our website. Once you have a space on our waiting list, throw all the information you have at us in the form of reference pictures, photos, drawings and sketches or descriptions.

Don’t leave it too late to speak to others.

Consult with friends, family and teammates before we make a start. Surprisingly, one of the most common reasons for a chargeable re work is receiving the graphics and then checking them out with someone else who has an idea that would have been best handed to our team before making a start. By talking to everyone around you before we begin you can ensure that those amazing ideas come to life before it's too late!

Ask us for help!

You don't have to know exactly what you want - Around half of our customers come to us and say something along the lines of - ‘I have no idea what I want but I want something awesome ` and that's just fine! You don't have to have anything in mind at all. Mostly the idea is there, you just need help to prise it out! Our team is trained to help you get the most out of our service and that starts right at the beginning of the idea process. We have worked with thousands of streamers each with a varying desire of creative control, so we have plenty of experience in this department and are ready for each and every one of you!

Change your mind.

Sounds like silly advice but so many of our customers think that once they have given us an idea its set in stone. This is certainly not the case. You have until 24 hours before your booking to change as much as you want, that includes a whole new concept. We are super flexible and understanding when it comes to last minute changes of mind! For this reason you can reach out and talk to any of our team and express any concerns you have about the ideas that have been discussed, any changes or even just some advice from our illustrators. Which leads us nicely onto the next tip…

Trust the experts!

A unicorn, playing a double headed guitar, smoking a cigar, while riding on the back of a headless pig that is riding a skateboard can sound like a great idea for a piece of art (at least in my opinion!), but does it work as a logo? We operate on honesty is the best policy basis here and if we feel something isn't going to work well, we will most likely tell you before we start. We think it's really important that our illustrators are involved in the writing of the design brief and we always involve them when hearing customer ideas and more importantly when the customer needs help coming up with some! We want you to have as much control as you’d like over the creation of the stream graphics we create but to avoid unnecessary revisions, it’s worth listening to the advice of our team where we think something isn’t going to work.

Words of advice from our founder -

When I started the company, revisions were something I really didn’t like talking about. It was a touchy subject for me to say the least. It’s easy to grow frustrated on both sides -

The customer wants the freedom to create something they love, change their mind, be hands on with it.

The supplier wants to be paid a fair amount for the time they have put into the art and doesn't want the awkwardness or asking for more money, inevitably ending in with a customer that feels as though they have been tricked into paying more for the work!

I spent forever searching all over the place for a revision policy that would suit us. -

Charging a certain amount per revision.

Charging a high price with a set amount of revisions.

Charging an even higher price for unlimited revisions.

And more…

None of these made sense for me. They are just a variation on a theme - Customers that want revisions are rewarded, those that don’t pay for something they never get and those that feel like they have to use them to get their moneys worth, usually end up changing something that's not needed!!

It all got a little on top of me, that was until I decided to talk to the people on both sides!

Our customers all agreed that paying the advertised price and having freedom to change their mind was the most important.

Our illustrators wanted the creative freedom over the design and a well written design brief.

To create the best design and avoid a chargeable revision - It’s all about balance.

From a business perspective our illustrators are highly skilled in their field of expertise and our customer relations team equally so. The difference is to make a huge chance to the finished design can take hours, to make a change to a written concept, just minutes. For me, developing relationships with our customers isn't about sweetening them up into spending more money! It’s about them being comfortable working with us and feel like they are part of the team throughout the duration of the project. Spending as much time as needing, gathering as much information as possible and painting the picture with descriptions means our customers have almost seen the design before our illustrators have even put pen to paper!

Offering free small revisions throughout and making sure a solid design brief is written before we start is what's most important in avoiding revisions at a charge.

Not accepting anything more than the time cost means that for our team, revisions that need to be charged for are an equal burden to us as they are to the customer. This is the perfect incentive needed to make sure our team does everything needed to bring our customers vision to life and avoids the thing I dislike the most about other revision policies - Using it as an excuse to make more than the advertised price and profiting on an unused revision a customer has paid for.

Our philosophy on revisions is why now, rather than dreading the topic, I celebrate it!

In closing, if there is one tip I can give you bigger than any other it would be this -

Work with us on your design and be a part of our team while we create it!

The solution to our conundrum was simple… Get the customer to join the team for the duration of the project!

Team Nubi is waiting for you!
